The above table explains how your enrollment as an Undergraduate Student affects your eligibility for Pell Grants, Federal Loans, and State Aid (HELP, MTAG, MESG).

  1. Pell Grant Eligibility: The amount you receive is based on your enrollment.

    *Full-time (12+ hours) = 100% of your Pell award

    *Part-time (1-11 hours) = Reduced Pell Grant percentage

  2. Federal Student Loans: To qualify for federal loans, you must enroll in at least 6 credit hours (half-time).

    *Students taking fewer than 6 hours (1-5) are NOT eligible for loans.

  3. State Aid (HELP, MTAG, MESG) – Starting Fall 2025:

    *Students must enroll in and pass at least 12 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring) to receive state aid.

    *If you enroll in fewer than 12 hours, you will not receive state aid.
